Ethanol Sensor for Distillery

Monitoring ethanol levels is essential for safe production of fermented products like beer and spirits. Ethanol is in fact the only type of alcohol that is considered safe to consume. It is generally understood that a certain level of ethanol will always be present within these industries, so it’s essential to monitor levels to ensure that dangerous levels of vapor are not reached. Ethanol can become explosive at certain levels and detrimental to health when breathed on a regular basis. Worker safety is the highest priority for an Ethanol gas monitor.

What is a Portable Ethanol Detector?

A portable ethanol detector does the same job as a fix monitor but has the added benefit of portability. A wearable detector is designed to protect a worker as they travel into different locations.

What is an Ethanol Detection Sensor?

Regardless of fixed or portable detectors the essential component is the sensor used to detect the concentration levels. Both Catalytic bead or infrared sensor technology can be used depending on the environment of operation. The instrument housing the ethanol vapor detector is simply an instrument designed to power the sensor and react to set levels. This may include local alarms, controlling ventilation and sending data to a central control room.

What is Ethanol

Ethanol ( C2H6O ) is a clear liquid used within many industries. Also known as Ethyl Alcohol, Typical applications include:

  • Fermentation industries such as breweries and distilleries.
  • Chemical production industry.
  • Pharmaceutical industry.
