A Solenoid valve is essentially an electrically operated valve and are idea for process control and other systems requiring electronic actuation.
Slight variations exist, but at it’s core is a coil which is energized to create an electromagnet. The magnetic field drives a plunger to open the valve.
Some valves require existing pressure to perform and therefore the solenoid is part of the balance between pressure and magnetic force. Other types do not require any pressure to function.
Burkert Solenoid Valves come in many variations and configurations including those designed for Hazardous Locations. Contact us and we will be happy to consult help with your specific applications.
