SWAN Analytical Instrument’s model AMI Sodium P low-level on-line sodium analyzer is the industry leading sodium analyzer for parts per billion (ppb) level sodium analysis in boiler, steam, condensate and high purity water samples with pH ≥ 7.
The AMI Sodium P analyzer provides accurate sodium analysis with simple maintenance requirements. Built-in failsafes ensure correct sample and reagent delivery, including continuous pH analysis which ensures that the sample is in the correct pH range (preventing hydrogen ion interference) for optimum sodium analysis.
The reliable AMI Sodium P sodium analyzer is ideal for hassle-free and accurate sodium measurements for power generation steam turbine protection or in your high purity water plant. The analyzer is factory tested and ready for operation out of the box.

Sodium measurements after the condenser indicates leakage, especially high salinity cooling water. The AMI Sodium P Sodium Analyzer provides the necessary information which allows you to make well-founded decisions early and locate leakage to minimize possible consequences.
Solid conditioning agents, such as sodium phosphate and sodium hydroxide are used for boiler water treatment. Overdosing or a wrong molar ratio of Na to PO4 may cause multiple problems. A proper control of sodium in boiler water is therefore essential. Protect your investment with a trend indication to prevent costly facility damage.
Mechanical carry over from boiler drums should be checked and controlled on a regular basis as per IAPWS technical guidance documents. The measurement itself is essential since sodium is a common corrosive contaminant in the turbine which can harm your equipment considerably in a short time period.
Ensure the quality of demineralized water delivered from the make-up plant. Reliable determination is essential to protect the entire power plant against undesired and dangerous contaminant ingress.
SWAN Analytical Instruments AG introduces a programmable automatic sodium sensor regeneration module for AMI Sodium P (400 mm panel version), which is available separately or as a configurable option.
The regeneration module is installed on the analyzer panel of AMI Sodium P and controlled by the instrument’s firmware. The module performs etching of the sodium sensor with the SWAN sensor regeneration solution (available separately) at user-programmed time intervals and for user-programmed durations.
The regeneration module is recommended for applications with low ppb concentrations of sodium to maintain a fast sensor response. When a sodium sensor is used continuously in high purity water, sodium leaches into the water from the sensor surface. A depleted layer forms on the sensor surface and the response time to a step change in sodium concentration increases. The depleted layer is removed manually with an etching solution before each sensor calibration and additionally, if desired, up to daily through the automatic application of the regeneration solution.
